The board of the Nazareth Foundation Malawi foundation consists of Rian Janssen, Cas Hofstee, Ineke Hendrickx and Therese Huijbregts. All four have been to Malawi several times and have taken the people of the African country to their hearts.

The Nazareth Foundation Malawi was founded in 2007 by Ineke Hendrickx and Nikki Peters. During her anthropology studies, Ineke did research in Malawi, where she built up a warm bond with the African country and especially with the people. In the years that followed, she spent longer periods of time in the village of Mganja to support the local community in realizing projects. Consultation and organization are its strength: together with the local community, the needs of the people are taken into account. Then, after completion, the project is handed over to the local population.

Her enthusiasm and commitment are contagious. Because she lives in Malawi for months at a time every year (without compensation), she has now amassed a group of Malawian loyalists who would like to work with her. As a result, our projects are realized with reliable partners. Ineke now leads several large projects. The Tiyende Pamodzi Girls' Secondary School (literally “We walk together”) is almost complete. Two playgroups are ready and in operation. The renovation and partial new construction of a primary school has started. Ineke also supports three schools for deaf children in Central and Southern Malawi on behalf of the Malawi Deaf Care Foundation and our foundation supports Mua Mission Hospital. With all these projects together, we help more than 2,000 children and young people every year on their way to a better future.
